Vodacom has a new-ish advert out, one which is widely known as the “Errol advert” (watch the video at the bottom of the post).
The advert has received a lot of mixed reviews; some people find it funny and a big majority think it is a bit controversial due to the perceived “stereotypes” portrayed.
Personally I don’t find the advert “stereotypically controversial” or funny, I just find it very irritating, but not nearly as much as my wife does.
She can’t stand it, and as she rightly points out “what about the advert makes you want to buy into the product?”
Regardless of personal opinion, though, I guess the main thing Vodacom is happy about is that people are talking about their advert, and therefore their service is getting more exposure.
