REVIEW: XShot Sport Pole – GoPro Action Cams and Phones

I enjoy many kinds of outdoor adventures; trail running, camping, kayaking, hiking etc. I am also passionate about videography and video editing (I run my own small Video Production business here).  So whenever I manage to get away for a little “adventure” I make sure I take a few cameras with to document the fun.

Often I am on my own on these shoots so it can be a bit tricky to execute the filming process well; it usually means running ahead to set up a tripod and then retracing my steps, or holding a camera in one hand while I run/paddle/climb with the other. Obviously these excursions were crying out for a selfie stick to be added to my equipment and fortunately OutdoorPR sent me the XShot Sport GoPro Pole to review; it is the most advanced action sports camera pole available.

It is of excellent quality, really sturdy and made with alimunim components. It is completely waterproof (including Salt-Water Resistant) and even has a water drainage port at the bottom.

It comes with a variety of mounting options including accommodating almost any cellphone. A cool feature that suits me nicely is that the handle contains an extra accessory mount. This means that I can screw the pole into one of my other tripods to give me a unique shot from a really high angle. You can view or purchase the Sport Pole, and its other variations here.

I like the speedy, simple lock/unlock feature of the pole; all you have to do is push down on the top and turn the handle clockwise to extend it and reverse the procedure and collapse it, which is excellent when you need to start filming in a hurry.
