This week’s quote comes from Jean Sibelius, who was a Finnish composer around the turn of the twentieth century.
He accomplished a lot for Finnish music, and his birthday is still celebrated every year in Finland; the 8th of December is known as the ‘Day of Finnish Music.’
One of his quotes was:
“Pay no attention to what the critics say;
no statue has ever been erected to a critic.”
Jean Sibelius
So don’t let the big words of small people deter you or get in the way of you achieving your goals. There will always be negative people; ones who like to pick apart your dreams and tell you why a good idea won’t work.
But as Jean Sibelius points out; in the long-term these people are never celebrated.
So keep going and who knows? One day there might be a statue erected in your honour 🙂
