South Africa has a new online deal specialist with daily offers with something for everyone.
The company is CitySlicker and I suppose I would liken it to the already-popular Groupon. CitySlicker features exclusive offers for restaurants, spas, sport events, getaway weekends and other lifestyle activities at a fraction of the original price.
It follows the same concept as Groupon in that you sign up for free and get daily deals sent to you via email. You can then browse through the offers and choose anything that appeals to you. By buying it through CitySlicker you ensure that you get the deal at a much better price than anywhere else.
The whole concept of group/social buying has benefits all round, as besides the great, discounted deals, it also helps local businesses get exposure to their immediate community.
At the moment, they unfortunately only have deals in and around the cities of Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and Pretoria, but hopefully they will expand their options in the future.
